Church Shower

A few weeks ago the ladies at our church threw me a baby shower. My friends Nicole, Cassie, and Suzan hosted it and did a wonderful job. I was so blessed by the 30 guests that came--not just in gifts but in their presence and the love they show me and my family. Truly, I never knew a church family could care so much until we came to this church. I'm sure it's no surprise that Mallory is already sooo spoiled. And loved.

Bradenton Trip

A week and a half ago, we made the looonnggg drive down to Bradenton. The day after we arrived at Drew's parents' house, Drew and I headed over to Anna Maria Island (Bradenton Beach) to the "resort" where we honeymooned. The room left much to be desired (it looked like it hadn't been cleaned since we were there almost eight years ago), but we had a wondeful time. It was the first time we have spent time alone overnight without Tristan. And it was actually two nights! It was truly special and very romantic and I will treasure the memories. Unfortunately, we forgot to pack our camera battery charger, so the only photos we have are on Drew's cell phone! After we were reunited with Tristan on Sunday, my mother-in-law and I drove over to my sister-in-law, Tara's house for the baby shower they threw for me. She did a fabulous job of hostessing and I am eternally grateful to both her and my m-i-l for what they did. Baby Mallory and I were spoiled! The trip ended with Tristan being very sick with a cold/allergies/asthma. After a trip to the ER and lots of rest, we headed back home. Truly a vacation we won't forget!!!

Tristan Turns Five!

Just want to share a few pics from Tristan's 5th Birthday Party. I am a little bit behind! I still cannot believe our baby boy is five years old. I am so thankful that he remains a very affectionate, sweet, tender-hearted little boy. This year we celebrated by having a bowling party!

Snow Mountain

On Valentine's weekend, we headed up to Stone Mountain, GA to play in the snow at Snow Mountain. Basically, it has snow tubing runs and a huge play area where families can make snowmen, throw snowballs, and an area where the little ones can go "sledding." The snow is made from the water in Stone Mountain Lake and recycled. It's the first year they've done this and while they have a lot of glitches to work out, I am thankful we got to go so Tristan could play in the snow for the first time. He loved it. There is no comparison to God's creation, the powdery white stuff that falls from the sky, but this imitation was good enough for a couple hours of playing! On our way home, we stopped at the farm in Alabama to see Durelle and Linda, where Tristan got to ride the tractor again. He told Drew, "I could live here forever!" Truly a boy after his daddy's own heart (though he has it fully already--these two boys have been attached at the hip since Drew returned!)
